For many years, the anti-trafficking field focused on the public's role in fighting trafficking by noticing and reporting general "indicators" or visual behavioral "signs" that a person is in a trafficking situation. We have listened to survivors and our comprehension of the crime has advanced, it is now grasped that forgoing context, these "signs" are rarely significant identifiers of trafficking.
